Week 1: The Go Giver

admin

Sunday evening, I’m just from work, it’s been a sombre day – a lot of peeps had made Christmas plans, it’s been announced that we can’t mix households – which means Christmas will not be the same this year! Such has been the year – but it is what it is, we can only make the best of it isn’t it?

Now onto the book of the week!

I started out with a different book from the one I will write on… ..

Have you ever read a book that you didn’t want to put down and once you finished it the book tags your heart and goes with you everywhere!

This book convicted, uplifted and made me contemplate….there is so much wisdom in this book presented in the simplest form; Life, Leadership, Business and Success Lessons all taught in a storytelling style.

It made me rethink about my work ethic, inner motives/drive and in general how I treat my fellow human beings

I’m sure by now you want to know what book it is! I actually read it in two days if I was not working 12hr shifts I probably would have finished it within a few hours, it is a short read but quiet captivating.

The book is: Go Giver by Bob Burg and John David Bann.

In a nutshell it teaches you Five Laws of Stratospheric Success, these laws must be put in practice – I found myself putting the laws into practice without a second thought – the results were phenomenal.

For example one of the laws says your true worth is determined but how much more you give in value than you take in payment – made me realise I had not been giving my all in a certain ‘job’ because I thought the payment was not sufficient. In that moment something in me changed and I called up my Partner and shared how best I can serve him better in this job, and deep down I know I want to do the best and to see him succeed it would bring me pleasure to see his success! In that moment I felt my heart warm up – joy in my very being.

I was awestruck by the statement that the key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving – you see and perhaps this is true for you, we’ve been taught that it is better to give than to receive, observe nature and you will see that there is no giving without receiving even the very act of breathing! Be a giver but also be open to receiving, for example having big dreams, wanting success is part of being open to receiving but you also got to give and by giving you will receive your desires… paradoxical? Yes but such is Life.

I could go on about the 5 Laws, I believe I have put them all to test within the short time I’ve read it – this is a book I would recommend to anyone and everyone, and I thank the one who recommended it to me! by reading this book I see why He is successful and I see him applying these laws in his business and life!

WOW is all I can say..

GO BUY THIS BOOK and ALL books by BOB BURG and John David Mann!

THIS IS TRULY A MUST READ!!!
