Some people are not under a generational curse – they’re just undisciplined.
Lets get real for a moment.
Religion and spirituality can be powerful forces for good, it has helped millions, healed hearts, shaped destinies – but there is a fine line between Faith that moves and faith that stalls.
Somewhere along the way, well-meaning believers have turned spirituality into a crutch – a way to avoid responsibility while masking inaction as “waiting on God”
Too many are hiding behind faith instead of facing reality.
They are “waiting on God”, when God’s been waiting on them.
They are rebuking demons instead of fixing habits.
They’re fasting for clarity when the real issue is fear of starting.
It’s the dangerous, deceptive act of slapping spiritual language on personal avoidance.
When Religion Becomes a Crutch.
Don’t get twisted – faith is powerful but it was never meant to replace personal responsibility.
The bible itself warns against this passive approach
“Faith by itself, if it no accompanied by action, is dead.” (James 2.17)
This isn’t about choosing between faith and effort. It’s about understanding that true faith fuels effort.
Yet many of us treat prayer like a magic wand rather than partnership with divine wisdom.
- You can pray for change all you want, but until your mindset changes, your life won’t.
- You can declare scripture over your bank account, fast for a financial breakthrough – but if you don’t learn how to manage money, or learn a new skill the “overflow” will not come.
The real tragedy?
People are more committed to spiritual performances than practical progress
God Helps Those Who Help Themselves (Even If That’s Not a Bible Verse)
This is a popular saying – it isn’t scriptural , but the principle is Biblical.
- David Prayed Before Fighting Goliath, but he still picked up the stone.
- Nehemiah fasted for Jerusalem’s walls but also organised builders and armed guards.
- The paralysed man was healed by Jesus – but only after his friends broke through a roof to get him there (Marsk 2:1-5)
Faith activates movement; it doesn’t replace it.
Here’s a radical idea:
Not everything hard in your life is the devil.
Some doors aren’t closed because of spiritual resistance – but because you never knocked.
Some relationships didn’t fail because of demonic influence – but because of poor communication and unhealed trauma.
Some businesses didn’t collapse because of a curse – But because there was no plan, no discipline and no follow-through,
The devil must be exhausted getting blamed for things we do to ourselves,
Faith Moves Mountains…. But You Still Have to Push
True faith isn’t passive – it’s responsive. God isn’t a genie; He’s a guide. He won’t do for you what He’s equipped you to do.
So, pray – Then Move
Believe – Then Build
Trust – Then try.
Stop over spiritualising everything. Start owning your life.
Grow up in your faith and show up for your future.
Because the greatest miracles often happen while we’re walking, not while we’re waiting.
